Hubicks Happenings

"I used to ask God to help me. Then I asked if I might help Him.
I ended up by asking Him to do His work through me." - J. Hudson Taylor

Dear friends and family,

Denise and I thought we would send along a little update on what's going
on with our family and ministry.

FAMILY

Abi turned three on Sept. 17th. She is turning into quite the little talker.
She loves and even prays for her "babies" (dolls). She really enjoys the
companionship of her brothers and sister.

Silas will turn five later this month. He enjoys playing outside (especially ball hockey),
"school", and playing just about anything with his brother. He really enjoyed taking
his first swimming lessons this fall.

Berea (7) is quite the Mommy's helper. She is enjoying grade 2 and learning a lot.
She is a super big sister to Abi. Berea really enjoys listening to "Adventures in Odyssey", and going to "Faith Club" on Tuesday nights at our church.

Kyle is getting tall: next month our oldest will be 9 – time sure flies. He is doing very
well in grade 3. He's getting good at Lego, and likes playing almost anything outside.
Kyle can't wait for skating to begin at the rink here in Tatamagouche next week.

Denise celebrated a birthday on Oct. 29th. She keeps very busy with teaching school
to the children, as well as all of the other 1000 jobs around the house. She recently
enjoyed a "day off": this is when she leaves the house after breakfast and goes wherever she likes. She does this for two reasons: 1. to get a much needed break 2. to make sure I "appreciate all that she does around here" – boy, does it work. She is amazing.

As a break from the busyness, I have recently taken up curling. I just started, but I like
it – it's harder and more demanding than it looks. I'm hoping it will lead to opportunities
to share Christ with people here in the community.

MINISTRY

God has been very good to us in allowing us to take His precious Gospel in Sept. and Oct. to the streets of Pictou, NS as well as Moncton, Sussex, Woodstock, and Fredricton, NB. I have also preached at outreaches and presentations in churches in Amherst, Middleboro, and New Glasgow, NS as well as Fredricton and Hatfield Point, NB. Yes, we have travelled over 6500 kms, but hundreds of lost people either heard a clear, pointed presentation of the Gospel, received a Gospel tract, or talked with me personally about the Lord; we were able to encourage, equip and edify many saved people in mission's conferences and churches in the area of evangelism along the way. How I thank the Lord for the ministry the Lord has graciously called Denise and I to.

One Christian recently remarked, "Oh Kirk, what a blessing to see you right in the middle of His will for your life. He has obviously gifted you to do this type of ministry, and my husband and I are so encouraged to see what you doing for His glory." Praise the Lord.

I have attached pictures from outreaches in Fredricton and Sussex, as well as a few recent ones of our family. For a complete and detailed list of everywhere we're headed, and everywhere we've been, feel free to check the "events" tab at any time on our website: www.goingandsowing.

Tool for your evangelistic toolbox

Every email update I have been recommending tools (DVDs, CDs, videos, sermons, books, websites, Gospel tracts, etc.) that have helped equip and encourage me in the area of evangelism. This update I am recommending the website of HeartCry Missionary Society headed up by Paul Washer. Never have I heard a man preach the Word of God like this man. I recommend the following sermons first: 'Youth Evangelism Conference 2002' and all 6 parts of 'True Gospel'.
http://www.heartcrymissionary.com/component/option,com_weblinks/catid,38/Itemid,85/

We praise the Lord for:
- Him. We are thankful for the goodness, justice, mercy, holiness, grace and amazing saving power of the Lord God Almighty (Rev. 11:17).
- all of the unsaved people who heard the Gospel, and all of the saved who were challenged to go out and "preach the Gospel to every creature"(Mark 16:15).
- keeping us safe on the road (Prov. 21:31), and providing through many of you for our every need (Matt. 6:11). Thank you so much.

Please pray with us that:
- the Lamb that was slain would receive the reward of His suffering (Malachi 1:11).
- through proper prayer and presentation, that all of the lost people I have the privilege of coming across will see the gravity of their sin, and flee to the precious cross of Christ with Biblical repentance and faith
(Mark 1:14-15).
- We would be faithful (1 Cor. 4:2) and obedient (Deut. 30:2) to Him in all situations.

Please do not 'keep the faith'…
spread it instead!

Until the nets are full,

Kirk, for Denise, Kyle, Berea, Silas and Abi Hubick

Mark 6:12

"Satan, the god of all dissension stirs up daily new sects. And last of all which of all others I should never have foreseen or once suspected, he has raised up a sect such as teach that men should not be terrified by the law, but gently exhorted by the preaching of the grace of Christ." –

Update from the Hubicks

Dear friends and family,

Below is an update of our busy summer. We mailed out over 500 hard copies and sent out emails as well. As you can see from the pictures below, our summer has been a busy, but blessed one. The pictures tell most of the story, but here is a brief description of each one (you can read more details at our website - www.goingandsowing.com - under the "events" tab, if you wish):

I spoke at the AWANA closing at Parkside Baptist Church in Moncton, NB (May 1).

OAC annual zone conference in PA (May 6 – 10) – this picture was taken during a day trip to New York City.

Assisting Layton Kerr at the OAC Training Seminar week in Ottawa (May 21-25).

I had the privilege of speaking at 5 churches in ON. We were able to spend some time with family; pictured here are some very precious people in our lives (May 26 – June 10).

I spoke at Living Waters Bible Camp in Danforth, Maine (June 24 – 29). This is a fantastic Bible camp, and we thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to speak there.

Canada Day outreach in Ch'town, PE.

Canada Day outreach in Ch'town, PE.

I spoke at Mt. Traber Bible Camp in Cooks Brook, NS (July 8 – 12).

Todd Nielsen and I preached during the Tall Ships festival in Halifax, NS (July 13) – fantastic crowds all night! In this picture, Todd Nielsen is using the “chemical cross”.

Preaching on Sat. July 14 in Halifax during the Tall Ships crowds. Todd Nielsen and I in two days preached the Gospel to at least 700 people. God is so good!

I spoke at Hampton Bible Camp in Hampton, NB (July 15 – 20).

Outreach using the sketch board and hundreds of Gospel tracts outside the Aerosmith concert in Charlottetown, PEI with Todd Nielsen and Bill Mooney (July 21).

I spoke at Camp Livingstone near Magog, QC (July 29 – Aug. 4).

Our Kyle, Berea, Sials and Abi (in Ottawa) – Denise and I thank the Lord for each of them.

We are extremely thankful for those of you who partner with our ministry with your kind thoughts, prayers, love and gifts…all of which mean more to us than we could say.
Praise items:
1. The Lord God Almighty is faithful, glorious, holy and awesome.
2. He has blessed us with safe travels and many opportunities to present the living Christ to hundreds of lost men, women, boys and girls.
3. He has graciously supplied our every need through the generosity of many individuals, families and churches. Our monthly target support is at 68%. He has graciously seen fit to supply 100% of our needs.
4. The Lord has supplied a full time colleague with OAC: Mr. Todd Nielsen from Grand Barachois, NB (www.goevangelism.blogspot.com). Todd is real answer to prayer: he loves the Lord, has a passion for souls, and is gifted in communicating the Biblical Gospel both to a group and to individuals.
Prayer requests:
1. The Lamb that was slain would receive the full reward of His sufferings.
2. That the hundreds Kirk encounters between now and Christmas in spiritual darkness would repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15).
3. That our family would be faithful to Him, His Word and each other to the end.4. That the Lord would be gracious in meeting the needs of the Nielsen family as they begin raising their support with OAC.
Every update I recommend a tool (a website, book, audio message, DVD, etc.) that will help equip you to become a "fisher of men" (Mark 1:17) like the Lord Jesus was. This month I am recommending evangelist Mark Cahill's ministry: http://www.markcahill.org/.
He has written two excellent books entitled "One Thing You Can't Do in Heaven" and "One Heartbeat Away". They will challenge and equip you in the area of personal evangelism.
We would love to hear from you. Please do not keep the faith…spread it instead!
Until the nets are full,
Kirk, Denise, Kyle, Berea, Silas and Abi Hubick

LOOKING BACK...

*Sun. April 30th - Speaking and presenting the ministry of OAC at Devon Park Baptist Church in Fredricton, NB. We had a fantastic time, and met many wonderful people. We're looking forward, Lord willing, to doing an outreach in October with these dear believers.

*Wed. April 18th - Speaking at Fundamental Bible Church in Middleboro, NS. This is our new home church, and we're very thankful for it. Pastor Todd Cameron asked me to speak during prayer meeting to the adults, which I was happy to do.

*Wed. April 11th - Sun. April 15th - Missions Conference at Faith Bible Baptist Fellowship in Sussex, NB. It would be difficult to describe how much we enjoyed this Missions Conference with words. We met many wonderful people, and they treated us so well. Thank you to everyone.

*Tues. April 10th - Speaking at a Senior's luncheon in Tatamagouche, NS. With only about two hours notice, I was asked to speak to a group of seniors here in Tatamagouche. The children sang a couple of songs, and I sang a solo. Since this was not a Christian event, I preached a brief Gospel message. I thank the Lord for this opportunity to spread the Gospel right here in Tatamagouche.

*Wed. April 4th - Speaking at the Willow Lodge Nursing Home in Tatamagouche, NS. We have an open door to go to here on the first Wednesday of each month and lead a "Hymn Sing". The children usually sing a song, and Denise and I usually sing a duet. I conclude our time with a brief Gospel message.

*Fri. March 23rd - "Fishing trip" on the streets of Moncton, NB. Main Street Baptist Church in Sackville, NB recently completed the "WAY OF THE MASTER - Basic Training Course". Now that they have completed the course, they are planning to go out and put into practice what they learned! We are planning on meeting for prayer and preparation at the church at 6:00 pm.

Say, perhaps your church should think about doing the same! :o)

***What an amazing time we had! About 24 people from the church and I traveled
together in the church bus. I was really impressed with the group; they ranged
in age from 16 - 55 (or so).

We held two open air sketch board meetings - one
with the neon paint and black light and one without. Several people heard the
Gospel and/or received a Gospel tract.

Two men in the group witnessed to a man
who apparently saw the gravity of his sin and wanted to repent and put his trust
in the Saviour (Mark 1:15)! Praise the Lord!

Please pray for Kelly (told me she was raped 2 weeks ago - had a great talk with her and David), David (Kelly's boyfriend), Tony (Paul's buddy outside of Doolys), Paul, Robbie (Dairy Queen
employee), John and his girlfriend (they recently had a miscarriage), Neil
(standing outside a bar smoking alone) and a few others whose names I forget.

All heard their need through the Law and were presented with the Gospel. Praise
God for many opportunities by many people (some for the first time! It was
precious!) to share Christ through a tract or conversation!

*Fri. March 23rd - Amherst Regional High School in Amherst, NS.. Last month I went there with my buddy Mike Smith on a very cold day. We gathered a crowd of 20 -25 students outside smoking on their lunch break. I am planning to be there at around 12:00 pm on the 23rd to follow up and see if any of them read the tracts I left them with last time.

*** When I showed up I heard a teen say, "Hey, here comes the God-man!" I
gathered a crowd by asking general trivia questions and giving away free
McDonald's gift certificates for correct answers.

For the last question I said, "I am going to give away this book of 5 one dollar gift certificates to the person who can prove to me that you're a good person." Justin quickly
volunteered. I took him through several of the commandments (I had him read them
himself off a 10 commandments coin) to see if he would be innocent or guilty
before God on Judgment Day - his friends were unusually quiet while this was
going on.

At the end I said to Justin, "Justin, you are not a good person: the
Bible (Rom. 3:10,12) is right...just like me, and just like everyone here. God's
Word says that if you die in your sins, you will receive justice on Judgment Day
and spend eternity paying for your own sins in the lake of fire. (A little more talking about justice: - namely, that if a law is broken and it affects us, then it's serious and there should be consequences to the offender. But since our sins our against someone else - God - then somehow we convince ourselves that it is not a big deal.

Justin, you don't deserve this book of 5 gift certificates...but I am going to give it to you anyway to illustrate grace (a little more talking here about what grace is).

Teens, if you will repent of your
sins and believe the Gospel (Acts 20:21), God will also give what you do not
deserve - His gift of everlasting life with Him in glory." God gave a wonderful
chance to share the truth of God's Word with at least 25 teens.

When it was all done, I offered each of them a coin and they all wanted their own - some of them
wanted more than one to give to their friends.

May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His sufferings!

*Thurs. Mar. 22nd - Hitting the streets in Truro, NS. I am planning on hitting the streets with a whack of tracks, my MP3 recorder, a video camera, and a heart for souls. Want to come along?

*** A good friend, Mike Smith, and I had several opportunities to present the
Gospel to James, Natasha, Bert, Kevin, John, as well as others whose names I
forget. Every conversation went unusually well. Thank you, Lord...and thank you
to all who prayed.

*Wed. Mar. 21st - Willow Lodge Retirement Residence in Tatamagouche, NS. One Wednesday each month at 10:30 am our family goes to the local retirement residence to lead a hymn-sing, sing songs for them, and present a brief Gospel message.
***Praise the Lord! We had a wonderful opportunity to present God's Law and
Grace to about 25 residents and staff! God is so good.
